Farewell to Oliver Sacks, the great thinker that understood how a man could mistake his wife for a hat, and delineated the distinction between apperceptive agnosia and associative agnosia........You know.....I was just looking for that whatjamacallit next to the thingamagig....You know.....the one that's a dead ringer for what'shername, Dolallies's friend...... "The brain is more than an assemblage of autonomous modules, each crucial for a specific mental function. Every one of these functionally specialized areas must interact with dozens or hundreds of others, their total integration creating something like a vastly complicated orchestra with thousands of instruments, an orchestra that conducts itself, with an ever-changing score and repertoire.” ― Oliver Sacks

A friend was 'proofreading' part of my 'Semi-Book'......confounded a bit by my use of 'writing tools'........Annoyed, by his preferential expectations of mediocrity, I considered re-writing the entire thing, with another Selplnig....Want something 'easy to read'....go to the drugstore and get a popular novel from the bookstand there.....I DID illustrate it, after all....which saved a hundred thousand words! i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. “ What he wanted was colours which would appear stronger and clearer in artificial light. He did not particularly care if they looked crude or insipid in daylight, for he lived most of his life at night, holding that night afforded greater intimacy and isolation and that the mind was truly roused and stimulated only by awareness of the dark; moreover he derived a peculiar pleasure from being in a well-lighted room when all the surrounding houses were wrapped in sleep and darkness, a sort of enjoyment in which vanity may have played some small part, a very special feeling of satisfaction familiar to those who sometimes work late at night and draw aside the curtains to find that all around them the world is dark, silent and dead.” ― Joris-Karl Huysmans, Against Nature

a 'friend' mentioned Orlando....I thought of the Sally Potter adaptation of the VIrginia Woolf novel......and, meditating on the 'labyrinth' scene, reached across my bed to remove the old Navaho silver 'bolo' that has the same theme......Later, having 'passed out' from exhaustion...still wearing the silver bolo, I dreamt of elaborate mazes and labyrinths, as my sub-conscious mind peered into locked compartmentalized thinking constructs and confined memories......Awakening, again, before Dawn, when Merlin jumped onto the bed....his foot 'hitting' the 'ON' button to the DVR.......to the eternal conundrum of 'Newspeak' and anxiety-laden 'reports' on 'what's happening'......Then, looking around, by the early light of sunrise, I noticed that I was the only 'alert' thing in the room.....The sculptures seemed.....deep; in slumber, still......I need a cherry danish and a strong cappuccino! It's so quiet t...

I'm feeling much healthier this evening..... but, for a few aches and pains, and some diminished focus and a white metal earring burning in my ear, as I am drawn to some old, cheapish jewels from my Youth.... decor for my youthful intellectual Fantasies, but later....relegated to the Naive Folder Jewels Box. ......My ear is almost instantly healed by having, now, a purest gold pin through it, with a tiny ruby suspended by a tiny platinum anchor chain from its sharpened point...... Yet, that constant humming continues ....not from a romantic medieval fantasy, but from the persistent Noise of the World...... Pleasure is the greatest of escapes...... and offers many labyrinths within Oblivion, with tethers to Reality, dropped to the floors of our Caves...... Yes, this is the young Lancelot, who draws the maidens to their balconies, late at night, when the nightbird...
